Alpine Club of Canada is a great organization. It has 18 sections all over Canada. There is a Toronto Section. They organize a lot of outdoor activities.  Become a member and hook up with the likely minded people.

First trip, Canadian Rockies.  ACC's club house is in Canmore. ACC also has many huts in the Rockies.  You can hook up with the ACC Rocky Mountain or Calgary or Edmonton sections for the organized activities.
