.........
A few weeks ago I've been to Danba in West Sichuan, a Tibetan area and I spent some days in a Tibetan village together with a Tibetan family. I really enjoyed it very much. From Danba I wanted to go to the north to Jiuzhaigou or Songpan. But they told me at the moment it's impossible because many parts of the road are still damaged because of the earthquake. But later I heard that it's not true. They just didn't want any foreigners in Tibetan areas during the national holidays. That's so stupid, I think they could tell that before. They could say foreigners are not allowed to go in these and these areas during the holidays and that would be okay. So I could plan. But sometimes they say it's ok, next time they say you cannot go and so on. I heard they stopped people who were already in the bus on the road and they had to take the next bus back. Strange...
I went back to Chengdu in a ten hours bus ride. There was a Chinese guy sitting next to me, vomiting for ten hours.
I didn't want to go back to Chengdu but there was no other opportunity. Then I went to Jiuzhaigou and the nature reserve was a really beautiful area. But so many tourists who just went out made hundreds of pictures and then back to the bus.
I made the plan to go to the north, I wanted to cross Qinghai Province and then to Xinjiang, to the Silk Road to Kashgar.
But I had to go to Songpan for the bus. In Songpan I had problems to get money on the ATM. I tried it several times on different ATM automates but it didn't worked at all. When I had a look on my online bank account I saw they took the money from my account but I didn't get it. Then I lost 400 euros, about 4000 Yuan.
Because I didn't get money in Songpan and all my next stations were just small cities and villages I had to go back top Chengdu again to get money. I was so annoyed about that and about the Chinese rules and bureaucracy. I went to the bank with a Chinese who spoke perfectly English but they didn't care and they were not friendly. They didn't want to help me, they just didn't care. I also couldn't speak to the manager because he's on holiday.
I was so very annoyed about so many things and usually I just wanted to leave China.
I often really have the feeling the people here just want to make business. All the entrance fees are so expensive.
And the culture here is not real anymore, it's just business and everything just for tourism. Now you have to pay for everything, for mountains, for all the temples, you have to pay entrance fees for villages as well.
But the all the temples, monasteries and so on are just fake. When I compare it with India or Nepal I feel so very disappointed. They just want to make money. I met so many foreigners who said the same, so many people are disappointed.
And the Chinese people are so annoying. Not all of them like you my sweet friend.
I also met so many very nice students who helped me very often and we had good conversations.
But I feel like most people here don't care about foreigners. Most people are not very helpful or friendly.
And the taxi drivers.. When we arrived in Chengdu one day it took us about 45 minutes to get a taxi. They just didn't want to take foreigners.
I decided to go to the South, to Yunnan Province and since them I'm travelling in here. And now I'm fine. Most people I met here are really nice and I enjoy my time here. I've been to Lijian, I didn't like it that much but the trek to the Tiger Leaping Gorge was great. The nature in Yunnan Province is incredible and amzing.... |
